First Time Flying

I flew for the first time with my children(and without my husband) to visit family for Thanksgiving. It was hard work for the trip and the amount of stress that it takes to get ready! I think I will stick to drving from now on.

The Simple Woman's Daybook

For Today: November 17 2008

Outside my window: a beautiful sunny day
I am thinking: about my discipleship class we had last night.
I am thankful for: eing ale to e a stay at home mom
From the kitchen: homemade pizza! Yum!
I am wearing: sweatpants, sweatshirt and sneakers
I am creating: helping the children create homemade christmas decorations
I am going: to stay at home all day
I am reading: I haven't made my library trip yet!
I am hoping: that we have a safe trip on friday.
I am hearing: nothing! I love naptime!
Around the house: Christmas decorations waiting to be hung
One of my favorite things: the smell of fresh garlic sizzling in a pan.
A few plans for the rest of the week: getting suitcases ready, preparing children for what to expect flying, ordering a few ools from internet that my library doesn't carry.

Always be a servant

We just got home from our morning service. I loved my sunday school lesson today. we talked aout how Jesus was a servant to his people even though he knew he was going to be crucified and even though he had all God's power because he came from God. It reminded me that we all should strive to be servants everyday. I think hardwork is lost in today society, and if you work hard and are a servant to God everything can e worked out.

saturday craziness

Hello everyone! Today has been a crazy day so far! this morning it was pouring rain so that means no outside time for my children. I am in the process of trying to teach my children the importance of quiet time! of course with a 5, 2 1/2, and 17 month old it's never quiet! My mom jokes it is always chaos here!
I decided that I would let the kids play with playdough while I got my morning housework done. It ended up making a big mess in dining room but it was fun anyways! i'm sure anyone who has small children can relate.
I am getting ready to start dinner. we are having porkchops, rice and gravy, green beans, mac n cheese and homemade yeast rolls!
